Pet Travel Safety:  Traveling across the country or to the local store with your pet can be a fun and enjoyable experience for all members of the family.  Pet safety is sometimes overlooked but is one of the quickest most important things you can do to protect your best friend while traveling.

Many states now require pets to be restrained while in a moving vehicle.  Restraints help keep pets safe in the event of a collision or minor jolt, but they also restrict them from jumping out of open car windows and doors, or into your lap.  Accidents can occur when unrestrained pets distract the driver.  Unfortunately, not only can your pet sustain serious injury if not properly restrained but they can become a projectile during a motor vehicle accident, as a result, becoming a danger to all passengers.  Seat belts save lives and are a requirement for your human friends, they should not be a second thought as a requirement for your furry friends too!

There are many options when choosing a restraint for your pets including cars that are specialty, or customized with pet barriers. Mesh pet barriers are also available for SUVs and trucks.  Even with a pet barrier a pet in the back seat of an SUV should be restrained.  Pet seat belts, car seats and travel crates are available for purchase online or at your favorite pet store.

When going on Adventures enjoy them, prepare ahead of time and your pet-cations will be fun for all!
