Does your pet throw up after they eat? Well sometimes mine does! AND IT FREAKED ME OUT! I thought what's wrong, can you have a puppy with an eating disorder YIKES! Well thankfully we live in a time when I can just check Google and phone my vet.
Thank goodness for Hillspet.com they actually have a feature article about just this. And Regurgitation or Transitioning can be to blame. Apparently when your pet has food competition or is really hungry or just loves the food they are eating, they will eat it super fast and ingest not just whole chunks of food but also a lot of air. So if they throw up after eating then regurgitation is to blame, and not to worry there are steps to be taken to help out this problem.
You can feed them smaller meals more often, or you can try a cookie sheet or other flat dish which will force them to eat more slowly. Thank goodness-because not only can it be a hot mess to clean but it can also be worrisome, and clean ups just aren’t that fun.
Transitioning to a new dog food can cause problems also. A way to alleviate this problem try mixing a small amount of your new food with the old food and you best friend should get used to the transition and not have any problems.
If problems continue then see your vet, and when changing new diets always check with your vet for your pets diet needs.
